Elevate Home Health is seeking an experienced Clinical Reimbursement Manager to join our team.  Primarily work from home with travel to locations as needed.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Clinical Reimbursement Manager provides supervision and oversight of Clinical Reimbursement team in the performance of applying the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to individual patient health records. Responsible for information for data retrieval, analysis claims processing, and quality control.  Performs the review and analysis of the Oasis C 1 and HISS data sets.  The position, which works under the direction of the Director of Clinical Operations, is assigned to perform the more complex and sensitive duties in the home health and hospice industry.  The employee in this position will be responsible to train other employees and/or monitor the work produced by other employees. The employee performs diverse duties of an advanced and specialized nature. Judgment must be exercised in analyzing facts or circumstances surrounding issues. Work often requires development of recommendations and independent actions consistent with policies, general directives, and broad regulations. The decisions made affect the operations of the work unit and the organization. Discretion is required in the application of policies, procedures, and guidelines, and in selection of appropriate resources for use in accomplishing assigned work. 

 

 

 


 

 KEY JOB FUNCTION

  • Analyzes and interprets patient medical records within an area of medical/clinical specialty in order to determine the accurate procedure codes (ICD9) and Oasis C 1 HISS data.
  • Assessment with risk management activities including identifying potential risk in documentation and coding assignments.
  • Utilizes advanced, specialized knowledge of medical codes and coding procedures to assign and sequence appropriate diagnostic/procedure codes.
  • Compiles and computes medical and statistical information, including productivity of reimbursement team. Coaches and counsels team members to meet standards.
  • Review of oasis performances to ensure optimal reimbursement while adhering to regulations.
  • Interacts with clinical and administrative staff regarding implementation of new codes and revision of documents.
  • Ensures strict confidentiality of financial and medical records in compliance with Health Insurance Portability Act.
  • Attends coding conferences, workshops, and in-house sessions to receive updated coding information and changes in coding and/or regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Professional license: RN or PT

  • Certification in Certified Professional Coding, (CPC), or specialty coding with American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)

  • Approval status and course work in accounting, data processing, and office procedures

  • 5 years of work experience in medical coding, Home Health and Hospice experience preferred. 

  • Certification of ICD9/10 and Oasis/HISS required within 6 months of employment. 



  • Home health supervisory experience preferred.
