Description:  This position is responsible for directing, planning, organizing and managing the goals and objectives of the Home Health and Hospice services countywide.  Other duties include providing program development and implementation plans and objectives for the agency Director and the Board of Health; managing and monitoring budget activities and billing to third parties.  This position must also ensure all staff are empathetic and sensitive to the medical and personal needs of patients and families and perform related duties as required.

Requirements:  Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master's in Nursing and three years of Public Health nursing experience (including two years experience in a supervisory capacity); OR graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing - which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and four years of Public Health nursing experience (including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity); OR a Master's in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of Public Health Nursing experience (including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity); OR graduation from a school of professional nursing and five years of professional nursing experience - four of which must have been in Public Health (including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity). 

• A current license as an R.N. issued by the N.C. Board of Nursing and an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of N.C. is also required.
• Prefer applicants with experience in Home Health & Hospice.  Applicants with strong interpersonal and motivational skills are preferred in order to motivate staff and maintain positive staff morale.

Compensation:  The hiring range for this position is $48,701 - $61,665.  Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees' Retirement System.
