This position is full time with a typical schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-430pm. Some evening and weekend work as required.
Functions as part of the hospice interdisciplinary team to provide spiritual services care to patients and families. Adherence to the privacy of patient information compliance program is mandated by federal regulations and is therefore a condition of employment for all Delaware Hospice personnel, and an element of employee performance evaluations. Functions within established policies and procedures to assure compliance to federal and state regulations. This is an exempt position.
Master of Divinity or equivalent; ordination from an accredited seminary or other accredited school of religious studies. Experience in pastoral care, especially care of the terminally ill and their families. Commitment to the hospice philosophy of care; ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team in the provision of hospice care. Must be able to lift and turn patients as needed in the normal course of patient care, following industry standards and guidelines for safety and correct ergonomic practices. Employees involved in patient care may be exposed to blood, body tissue and fluids regularly and are expected to follow all health care industry safety guidelines indicated in our procedures manual.
