Job Description Summary:
The Director of Operations is responsible for the management of fiscal and operational activities of the home care agency. Responsible for long range planning and fiscal viability of the organization. Plans and develops new programs, recruits and interviews management staff, and establishes mechanisms for measuring quality care and organizational performance.
A. Planning and directing operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services.
B. Fiscal planning, budgeting and management.
C. Recruiting, employing and retaining qualified personnel to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
D. Ensures overall agency preparation for licensure and other audits and surveys as they pertain to administrative functions.
E. Provides an environment which fosters continuous quality improvement
F. Ensures compliance with all applicable personnel practices, standards and regulations.
G. Establishing and maintaining effective channels of communication.
H. Ensuring program personnel have current clinical information and current practices.
I. Evaluating services and programs.
J. Ensuring personnel development including orientation, in-service education and continuing education.
K. Serves as the Infection Control Coordinator for the Agency
L. Directs the Performance Improvement activities of the Agency
a. Chairs the Performance Improvement Committee
M. Coordinating with other program areas and management as appropriate.
N. Maintaining currency on local trends and issues.
O. Ensuring that appropriate service policies are developed and implemented.
P. Directing personnel in performance of their duties including admission, discharge and provision of service to patients.
Q. Assuring appropriate personnel supervision during all operating hours.
R. Ensuring the accuracy of public information materials and activities
S. Appointing a similarly qualified alternate to be available at all times during operating hours in the absence of the Director of Operations.
1. Currently licensed in the agency state of operation as a Registered Nurse required.
2. At least three to five years experience in health care management preferably in homecare management in operations.
3. Demonstrated an ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
4. Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with the community.
5. Knowledge of corporate business management.
6. Demonstrates good communications and public relations skills.
