NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: The Olivia White Hospice Home housekeeper is responsible for general maintenance and cleaning of residents’ rooms as well as restrooms, common areas, hallways and kitchen.  The housekeeper is also expected be responsible for food planning, preparation and assisting caregivers as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
·        Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
·        Responsible for meal planning and preparation, including snacks
·        Responsible for laundry care
·        Responsible for inventory and supply, ordering, labeling and re-stocking of supplies kept in laundry area (check twice a week and order every other week, as necessary)
·        Maintain bathroom cabinets in order and ensure they are supplied with linens in good condition (Check that cleaning materials are locked up according to applicable ADHS Regulations)
·        Responsible for grocery shopping at Fry’s and/or Safeway
·        Meet all state, federal and local health codes
·        Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements as per organization policies
·        All other duties as assigned by the Manager, Manager Designees or caregivers

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
·        An adult, 18 years of age or older
·        Minimum of 3 months food service related experience
·        Minimum of 3 months housekeeping experience
·        Graduate of the first available Northland Hospice Volunteer Training Program.

·        Above average multi-tasking and organizational skills
·        Self-starter, proactive, works quickly and accurately
·        Adaptability
·        Must be able to read written instruction and comprehend verbal instructions given in English
·        Demonstrate compassion for individuals in the dying process

 

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
·        Reliable transportation, current driver’s license, and current auto insurance
·        Food Handlers License
·        Current CPR and First Aid certificates through American Heart Association
·        Current Fingerprint Clearance Card
